Saul Bass designed the Wienerschnitzel logo in 1978. So we had a lot of design heritage to live up to. People had forgotten what a fun brand Wienerschnitzel is. What’s more fun than hot dogs?! To help bring the fun back, we came up with hundreds of “Wienerisms” which we then had illustrated. Then we totally redesigned their Instagram presence (see images below) to really let their personality shine, make the food look fantastic and give them a modern-retro feel that brings out the fun and nostalgia of the brand. They didn’t have a lot of money to do it, so with our internal creative teams, our in-house photographer a talented illustrator and did it all ourselves.

The point-of-purchase communication has to do a lot of heavy lifting, but we still wanted Wienershnitzel’s voice to come through in it.
